Baltimore – The chorus of recent calls for a push back to the start of the lacrosse season may gain some voices from Loyola’s Evergreen campus. The Holy Cross Crusaders outplayed the #8 Greyhounds to earn a 13-12 win in very heavy snow at Ridley Athletic Complex. Both teams had to endure the elements, and the Crusaders (2-0) earned the victory behind senior Clay Haarman‘s four goals and junior Michael Ortleib‘s 13 saves. Given the low visibility caused by the weather, Ortleib’s efforts are all the more noteworthy.

Loyola (2-2) received four goals from junior middie Tyler Albrecht and two goals and four assists from senior attackman Nikko Pontrello. Loyola next faces the Patriot League’s Lehigh (2-1) on February 28 at Ridley. The Crusaders face Navy (1-2) at home the same day after this Monday’s match against Harvard (1-0) was postponed.
