Hobart Beats Hopkins in NCAA Playoff Thriller, 24-21

Baltimore, MD – The Hopkins Blue Jays are back on campus after a 24-21 loss to the Hobart Statesmen in Geneva, NY last Saturday.

Hopkins finished out the season with an 11-1 mark, as Centennial Conference champions, and undefeated in league play. Senior quarterback Braden Anderson threw for 25 touchdowns against just nine picks and also ran for 528 yards and nine touchdowns. Sophomore running back Stuart Walters averaged 5.2 yards per carry while leading the team with 768 yards on the ground.

Coach Jim Margraff became the winningest coach in Maryland college football history this year, adding another highlight to what was arguably the Blue Jays’ finest campaign in program history.

The Hobart Statesmen (12-0) move on to Dover, DE to face Wesley (11-1) this weekend. The Wolverines have outscored their first two playoff opponents by a combined score of 111-7.
