The Towson Tigers
, playing in college football’s FCS division, kept pace with their own 4-0 start
. They are presently ranked third in the nation within the FCS.
Baltimore Lutheran’s Jay Davis
earned his first start for the Brown Bears and showed himself up to the task. The Bears easily handled Georgetown (0-1), 45-7, in their 2013 opener in Providence on Saturday.
Davis had three tackles at cornerback and a key special team’s play when he downed a second quarter Bears’ punt at the Hoyas’ one.
Georgetown was forced to punt on the ensuing series, and Brown regained possession at the Hoyas’ 37. Four plays later the Bears scored to go ahead 24-0. Brown travels to Harvard next week to play the Crimson (1-0). Harvard won their opener, 42-20, over San Diego
(0-1) last week.
