College Baseball: Ripken League and College World Series Updates

The Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League (CRBCL) has the Bethesda Big Train in first place after just under two weeks of play at 6-2. As reported, the Baltimore Presstman Cardinals are in their first year in the circuit and now are 4-6 after knocking off the defending champion Baltimore Redbirds (6-5), 6-3, tonight at Calvert Hall.

In Omaha at the College World Series, LSU and Louisville have exited the field, while Mississippi State, Indiana, Oregon State, North Carolina, NC State, and UCLA remain alive in double-elimination play.

Two teams will survive from the six remaining and play in a best-of-three championship series beginning on June 24.
